Want to ski? But not all the time? Winter Sports aren't for everyone, but now you can have the best of both worlds! Stay in one of our houses and benefit from all the local area has to offer, while those who want, can be in a ski resort within 45 minutes. 

The Ariege has 4 downhill and 4 cross country resorts. The French seem to have kept this to themselves, as very few British people have heard of them and those that have tend to dismiss them. The truth is that for those in the know they offer an excellent alternative to the expensive and often overcrowded better known resorts. Cost of passes and ski hire are usually a fraction of those found elsewhere. Slightly further away, but well within the scope of a day trip you also have Andorra and the higher Pyrenean resorts such as Font Romeau. 

The nearest ski station is 'Les Mont d'Olmes' (40k) (Altitude 1500-2000m) located with the imposing scenery of the Massif de Tabe and in the shadow of the historic Chateau de Montsegur. The station offers 20 pistes in 300 hectres (5 Green, 4 Blue, 9 Red & 2 Black), 13 ski lifts, ski school, equipment hire, restaurants and 20 snow cannon.
