Try the following sites for cheap flights to local airports.

Rough driving times to us from the following airports are as follows.

Carcassonne(30mins), Toulouse (1 hour), Perpignan (90 mins), Nimes & Montpellier (2-3 hours), Barcelona (4 hours).

DRIVING

From channel ports, driving time is between 8 & 12 hours, allow perhaps 2 hours more for stops and fuel. However it can be done in a day or overnight.

Our preferred route is overnight, Portsmouth-Caen with Brittany Ferries then straight down the centre (Le Mans, Tours, Limoges, Toulouse), picking up the A20 Autoroute at Limoges, much of which is free to use.

If you use the tunnel, swing west of Paris via Rouen and Chartres to Orleans, then follow A20 again.

Only be tempted by the ferry to Northern Spain (Santander or Bilbao) if you have a strong stomach, the sea in the Bay of Biscay is not renowned for being calm. Expect 4-5 hours driving at this end.
